You will be part of a multidisciplinary team near Ghent that develops methodologies and tooling for the extraction, quality control and improvement of clinical data. You will also be setting up data warehouses (clinical intelligence) in medical environments.
On daily basis you will work on data importation from hospitals towards the internal database. Your role will be to improve the ETL processes via automation and overall process the scientific data.
You are able to take responsibility for a project, follow it from start to finish and act proactively to ensure smooth progress. You communicate smoothly and professionally with customers.

You have a Master degree in the life sciences domain with an IT background.
Eg Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, etc.
You are willing to make short trips abroad.
The ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English – both verbally and in writing.
You have affinity with clinical environment and are interested in further developing your domain knowledge about clinical research.
Nice to have:
You have basic knowledge of medical terminologies such as: SNOMED-CT, ICD, LOINC, MEDRA, etc.
You have basic knowledge of programming, ideally:
-Basic knowledge of Java (Abstraction in Java)
-Knowledge of scripting (Groovy, Python, ...)
You have practical experience with RDBMS systems (eg :postgresql), knowledge of SQL.
Experience with ETL tools such as Talend Studio (or other data visualization tool)
Experience with statistical analysis and analytics tools
Knowledge of medical IT standards: HL-7, CDISC, etc.
Knowledge of knowledge engineering (ontology, RDF, reasoning, ...)
